Job Description

Maintenance Watch Engineers must be suitably qualified and experience and are responsible to the Maintenance Controller for effective and efficient discharge of the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Tech Logs review for airworthiness compliance;
  • Maintaining oversight and status of open defects to ensure timely rectification;
  • Ensure MEL list is accurate, and a work scope is in place for rectification;
  • Review and approve all MELs that are requested to be applied at out stations, and effectively communicate MEL status to Operations;
  • AOG resolution, and advising Operations of threats and providing continual updates of expected targets by evaluating likely courses of action;
  • Effectively communicating to Flight Operations and OCC of defects affecting passenger convenience, loading staff, aircraft performance or operating characteristics;
  • Providing technical maintenance information to flight crew requests in flight via ACARS, SATCOM and/or radio;
  • Maintaining serviceability by reacting to any alerts – high oil consumption and engine health;
  • Ensure EDTO compliance, and communicate any non-compliance accordingly;
  • Providing technical maintenance and aircraft systems trouble-shooting advice to MRO’s;
  • Researching and raising requests with OEM’s, approved persons and CAAV for Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) or Special Flight Permits;
  • Support flight or service engineers with status of aircraft prior to departure;
  • Ensure shift hand over reports are reviewed and one is issued from each shift;
  • Demonstrating positive commitment to company quality and safety policy and procedures;
  • Other duties as directed by the Maintenance Controller.

Minimum Experience and Qualification:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance in an operational and/ Or Maintenance Watch role for aircraft that are the same, or of a similar type as the aircraft operated by the airline;
  • Hold, or have held, an aircraft engineer license in category aero-planes and powerplant equivalent with type ratings on aircraft types operated by Air Vanuatu and/or aircraft of similar complexity as the B737NG;
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of maintenance control and the associated CAAV / CAANZ requirements;
  • Demonstrate excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills;
  • Have advanced computer and data analysis skills and be proficient in the use of MS Office Suite and AMS or similar Maintenance Information System Under the direction of the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the accounts payable clerk will undertake the following duties:

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processing a high volume of invoices efficiently and effectively;
  • Responding to queries from staff and suppliers, as required;
  • Assisting with the processing of payments;
  • Following up on price discrepancies;
  • Petty cash reconciliations;
  • Supplier statement reconciliations;
  • Data entry;
  • Filing and scanning of invoices, receipts and documents; and
  • Other duties as required.

Selection Criteria

  • A degree in Finance or Accounting, or be studying towards;
  • Well-developed computer skills;
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel to an intermediate level;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Confident and motivated individual who is looking to join a friendly and hardworking team;
  • A good communicator, well presented and enthusiastic with a strong work ethic;
  • Excellent attention to detail, be organised, client focused and possess strong numeric reasoning and communication skills.
