Passports, Visas and IDs
Important information before you travel to Vanuatu.
All passengers and visitors travelling to Vanuatu must comply with the Vanuatu Governments entry requirements. You need to have a valid passport and any documentation required for entry readily available to be presented at the Airport check-in and at the Immigration check point upon arrival. Depending on your passport nationality and your travel origin, additional requirements may include:
1. Confirmed return ticket / e-ticket itinerary
If you do not hold a Visa for one way entry into Vanuatu, you must have a print out of a return ticket which must be sighted at the time of check-in or uplift will be denied
2. A valid passport
You need to have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity. If you do not have this minimum validity you will be denied uplift
3. A Visa or relevant travel documents for re-entry
You must have a valid visa or relevant travel document for re-entry to the country from where you commenced your travel based on your passport origin.
4. Maximum stay for visitors is 30 days only
If your return date is beyond 30 days your ticket must be a fare which permits changes. Immigration will initially allow passengers to stay for 30 days on a tourist visa. Visitors are required to go to Vanuatu Immigration Department and extend the visa before the expiry date and pay a nominated fee. The maximum stay is up to 4 months from the date of arrival, each month a new extension visa must be applied for.

5. A Return or Onward ticket
Proof of onward ticket is required if you are connecting with other international flights, either in: Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Noumea, Nadi, Port Vila, Santo, to Asia, Africa, Europe, Pacific and the Americas.
Air Vanuatu as procedure checks all documentation at Airport check-in and enforces the above-listed entry requirements from: Australia, New Zealand and SWP destinations on inbound flights to Vanuatu.
