INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS
Air Vanuatu Airport International check-in counters open: 3 hours before a flight departs - New Zealand is 3 hours prior.
All International flights open 3 hours prior to departure and strictly close 60 minutes prior to departure time.
We recommend travellers and groups check in at least two hours prior to departure. This will allow you enough time to complete immigration and security formalities and avoid causing a flight delay or missing your flight.
Important Information:
Please ensure that you meet the Vanuatu Government's entry requirements by having following document/s ready before you commence your travel:
1. Confirmed return ticket / e-ticket itinerary
If you do not hold a Visa for one way entry into Vanuatu, you must have proof of a return ticket at time of check-in or uplift will be denied. This document is required to be viewed by Vanuatu Immigration in Port Vila & Santo
2. A valid passport
With at least 6 months validity, if you do not have this minimum validity you will be denied uplift. This is a Vanuatu Immigration department requirement
3. A Visa or relevant travel documents
For return entry into the country from where you commenced your travel
4. Proof of onward ticket
if you are connecting with other international flights, either in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, Noumea, Nadi, Port Vila, Santo, to Asia, Africa, Europe, Pacific and the Americas

EX VANUATU
Airports Vanuatu Security does not allow powdered kava or coffee to be taken onboard or in the cabin of any International flight. ALL KAVA AND COFFEE will be seized at the screening area at International Airports in Vanuatu. Passengers are advised to pack these items in their checked luggage to avoid confiscation. Air Vanuatu takes no responsibility for the confiscation of goods.
DOMESTIC FLIGHTS
All domestic check-in counters open 2 hours prior and close 45 minutes before departure.
We recommend travellers and groups check in at least two hours prior to departure. This will allow you enough time to complete security formalities and avoid causing a flight delay or disappointment in missing your flight.
Please ensure that you have the following documents ready when checking in:
- Departure Tax (Provincial taxes will need to be paid at check-in)
- ID Document: Passport/VNPF Card/National ID Card/Driver's License/School ID Card

MINIMUM CONNECTING TIME
For a smooth connection between flights, it's important that you give yourself adequate time between your first flights arrival and your next flights departure. This time between flights is known as your minimum connecting time, this is to allow for security checks and making your way to your departure gate which may be located in a different terminal some distance way.
- International minimum connecting time is 2 hours
- Vanuatu domestic minimum connection time is 1 hour
